Reports from South America reveal that Napoli are closing in on a deal for Real Betis’ Argentine midfielder Guido Rodriguez, whose contract expires at the end of the 2023-24 season.
Cesar Luis Merlo of Argentine news outlet Register ufabet reports that Napoli are in talks with Rodriguez, although Real Betis are expect to offer him a new contract once again. End of season
“We will meet with him again at the end of the season,” Real Betis CEO Ramon Algaron told Radio Sevilla recently.
However, Rodriguez is set to leave on a free transfer this summer and could move to Napoli on a free transfer if a personal deal can be reach.
The 30-year-old has 27 international caps and has made 132 La Liga appearances since moving to Europe five seasons ago.
He was previously with Club America and Tijuana in the Mexican Liga and began his career with River Plate in Argentina.
The defensive midfielder has also been linke with moves to Juventus and Barcelona in recent weeks as well.
Rodriguez is an Argentine international who was part of the Albiceleste team that won the last World Cup in Qatar at the end of 2022.
